Small brown head. Opaque black body. Earthy chocolatey roasty aroma with whisky and toffee notes. Sweet-dryish earthy roasty toffee taste with chocolatey spicy notes. Fullish body. Mild, soft, smooth, rounded mouthfeel with slight heat. Dryish earthy smoky whisky taste with toffee notes. Perfectly balanced and harmonic, but perhaps a little more earthy and raw than the other Ola Dubhs. Lacking that lovely bitter-sweet edge running through it. Still an outstanding beer by any standards. (0.33l bottle, from Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)

12 ounce bottle from Belmont Station. Pours a murky dark mahogany color with a small brown head. A light but robust nose of wood, char, smoke, sweet malt profile. A really good subtle and complex brew: wood, scotch, peat, bitter roast, chocolate, vanilla, some creamy mocha. Age. This tastes old. Done perfectly as usual. These series of beers are great.
