Sparkling and bright this is a Wisconsin original created for you in the traditional method employed by the Lambic Brewers of Belgium including five months of outdoor resting in oak barrels. Indigenous yeast and cranberries from the “wilds” of Wisconsin flawlessly pair to dance on your palette. You have discovered a rare and delightful treasure to be served cold in a fluted glass.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/15/2016. Pours slightly hazy reddish/pinkish/orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tart/tangy cranberry, raspberry, cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, hay, straw, grass, pepper, oak, wheat, cracker, light leathery funk/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of cranberries, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/tangy cranberry, raspberry, cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, hay, straw, grass, pepper, oak, wheat, cracker, light leathery funk/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness and light yeast/tannic oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart/tangy cranberry, raspberry, cherry, lemon, green apple, red grape, hay, straw, grass, pepper, wheat, cracker, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of cranberries, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; with an amazing malt/tartness balance, and zero astringent/puckering flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/dry, acidic/creamy/grainy, and lightly tannic mouthfeel that is insane. Absolutely perfectly balanced. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is an insane fruited sour ale! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of cranberries, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modest acidity. Absolutely perfectly balanced flavors with incredible complexity. A highly amazing offering.

Thanks Virby44 for the bottle! Poured into a snifter showing moderately filtered cranberry red with a finger and a half of cranberry tinged white foam. The nose shows a tart cranberry notes with strong steel tank notes. The palate is light bodied and highly carbonated. Flavors of strong cranberry with a light sweetness and moderate tartness. Not puckering - well balanced flavors all around and fruit forward enough to keep it interesting. Maybe a bit too sweet for the style but the sweetness feels natural coming from the cranberries.

12 oz. bottle, from my Secret Santa! Shared at my going away cellar clearing party. Pours a clear bronze color, with no real head. The nose is cranberries (no really, lots of cranberries), apple, and cardamom. Sweet and fruity flavor, with a light tartness. Light body, slighly acidic, crisp, syrupy, and clean. This is a very nice, balanced, fruity beer, but in a complex and delicious way.

Bottle split at Bruces pad - for the last time, thanks to that Manny G, 27/03/15. Hazed orange golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is sweet berry fruits, light acidic smoke, tangy citrics, sugary notes. Taste comprises sweet fruits, light spice, bitter orange, faint wood, sugars, raspberry jelly. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mixture of sweet and light acidic notes. So so fruit pap - not quite sure what all the fuss is with this one!

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Ladraig. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head. Jammy fruits on the nose, some white grape, berries. Medium sweet flavor with some pickle juice, lemon, more grapes. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish with strong acidity, more grapes, lemon, orange. Interesting stuff. Salty, sweet, sour. Novel.

12oz bottle shared with a few friends. Poured a slightly ruby amber color with a small pink(?) head. Aroma was tart cranberries, sweet light fruit notes. Some light tartness, akin to a lambic, but not too tart. Light funky notes, a bit like cranberries and some light wild strawberries.

Bottle received in trade. Pours reddish pink with a small pinkish offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity and tiny funky with cranberries, lemon juice, dry soil, minerals and hint of barnyard. Taste is sweet, sour and fruity with crackers, cranberries, lemonade, brown sugar, hay, dry soil, minerals and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is tiny dry, tart, astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet, sour and fruity with crackers, lemon juice, cranberries, green apples, hay, dry soil and lemon zest. Tasty nicely balanced cranberry bomb! --- Beer merged from original tick of Thumbprint Series Cran-bic Ale on 20 Nov 2014 at 18:43 - Score: 8. Original review text: Tasty fruity beer. Nice balance between the sweetness and the tartness.
