The unusual name derives from olden days, when the guests would whisper (‘stickum’ being a dialect term for whispering) that the master brewer must have been a little too generous when weighing out the ingredients.
Thanks to the higher alcohol percentage, Uerige Sticke can be stored for much longer than the declared and guaranteed minimum shelf life.

Bottle. Nice amber color with a two finger head. Wonderful balance of hop and malt in both taste and aroma. Nice.

Bottiglia.

500 ml bottle. Almost hazelnut brown with dense fluffy head. Robusta coffee, lemon zest, grapefruit, cocoa, rubber, leather, roasted nuts, marzipan, bitter almonds, toffee. Hoppy zesty roasty bittersweetness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry roasty zesty hoppy bitter finish. Excellent!
Big fan of the Altbier Sticke!
Thanks for the beer, Eric P. !!!
Malty rye bread, some fruity sweetness, finishes dry. Smooth, a bit light. Not bad.

330 ml longneck swingtop bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, earth, blackcurrants, dark bread, herbs and spices. The flavour has the same elements, some caramel too, but is not too sweet. Decent bitterness. Overall an excellent beer.
