Uerige Sticke is only served twice a year: always on the third Tuesday in January and October. This beer is brewed with more malt and hops, and is much richer than Uerige Alt. Sticke with its intense and elegant aroma contains 6% abv.

The unusual name derives from olden days, when the guests would whisper (‘stickum’ being a dialect term for whispering) that the master brewer must have been a little too generous when weighing out the ingredients.

Thanks to the higher alcohol percentage, Uerige Sticke can be stored for much longer than the declared and guaranteed minimum shelf life.

Bottle, best until 13.02.05. Dark amber color, small head. Vinous aroma with biscuit. Hoppy, very malty flavor. This beer has a good hop character, but that is cahllanged by the malt, the wine-like character and the biscuit and butterscotch flavors. World class beer!. Thanks Dortmunder, for providing me with this gem.

Bottle. Color: Dark copper, off-white head. Aroma: Malt, subtle caramel. Taste: Malty and hoppy, subtle caramel, lightly herbal. Moderate to medium sweet, moderate bitterness. Notes of grass, hay, bread, subtle dried dark fruit. Orange peel hints. A lot more of different flavours than an original Alt beer. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Pretty smooth and dense mouthfeel. Bittery finish. Nice.

Bottle from Londis, Knighton. Light brown, translucent with a thick beige head. Light malty aroma, bitter chocolate, a touch of forest floor and orange peel. Lovely balanced taste: there's an initial sweetness almost immediately challenged by an earthy hop. Gentle bitterness in the finish. Full body, heavily carbonated. Very good.
