Bottle at home. Aroma is coffee beans, some mocha, cold coffee, zesty citrus, some weird apasaragus/vegatable-ish element, hint of tropical fruits. Flavour is about moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Now I love coffee and I love IPA and I love being open-minded about experiments, but this clash of styles does not appeal to me, it just doesn’t work.

Langer, trocken hopfiger Nachhall.10/10/9/10/11/10

Almost clear gold beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent minerally carbonation. Light malts bring a thin creamy sweetness. Good orange and tangerine hops and mild hop spice. Floral sweetness. More orangey hop. Coffee? You have to be looking for it, some slightly earthy coffee on the light smooth finish. Nicely fruity IPA.

Straight from the bottle in the train from The Hague to Amsterdam. Nice coffee ground through soft citrus fruity doughiness. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, somewhat sharp prickly carbonation. Smooth sweetened nutty coffee finish. Very nice.

On tap @ Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder, Haarlem Clear orange with a white head. Aroma of coffee mixed with hops. Taste is medium bitter. There is an interesting battle going on between the fruity hops and the coffee; on second the hops seem to have the upper hand, the moment thereafter the coffee seems to win. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of the coffee/fruity hop combo but it’s brewed expertly.

Draft. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of hops, straw, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, and malt, leading to a bitter finsih.
