Deep, rich and delicious. This robust porter has a base of Chocolate and Brown malts for a stunningly deep rich color with ruby highlights. The slight bitterness from American chocolate is balanced with the sweet notes of organic coconut we toast onsite at the brewery. It was even awarded the Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal in 2012.

A clear dark brown porter with a thin brown head. In aroma, loads of chocolate malt, grassy character, rich and smooth. In mouth, roasted malt with bitter chocolate character, coffee grinds, oily mouthfeel, well done.

Location: Draft at Revolution, 12/9/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly roasty, with some chocolate and coffee malts as well
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a light brown head and fairly heavy lace
Flavor: Tastes roasty and chocolatey, but not very sweet at all, with a dry-roasted coffee bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-plus, with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, and a dry, roasty finish
Overall Impression: This is some very solid stuff. They made a nice roasted coffee and chocolate Porter. It has a nice dryness too it, and never gets too sweet. The smooth feel also adds to the drinkability. I was impressed with both of the beers I tried from NoDa, and I anticipate good things from them in the future.

Draft. Maroon color, tan head. Aroma of dark cocoa and cocoanut. Flavor is like eating a Mounds Bar! Definitely unique and interesting, and the combination works very well in this beer.
