The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

500ml Bottle - Hazy amber in colour. Passion fruit, mango, lychees and grapefruit in the aroma. Tangy and hoppy taste with notes of passion fruit, biscuity malt and grapefruit standing out.

500 ml, batch 695, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger (sold out now, but they will have more later). ABV is 6.0%. Cloudy golden colour, moderate white head. Lovely aroma of mixed tropical fruits. Relatively light bodied. The flavour is brimming with fruity hops, but the beer is not too sweet. Notes of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. A winner.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the Tuesday Horal Chugging Tasting - London. Thanks to Kenny for this APA. Pours cloudy orange with a foamy-creamy white head. The nose has grapefruit, bread, light caramel and pine. Light to medium sweet flavor with tangy orange and tangerine, mostly. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Citrusy finish with bready malts and restrained piney bitterness. OK.

Bottle. A dense, off-white head of finger-thick height forms over an unclear, orange-golden body. Some curtains. The aroma is very peachy, with some sugary malts and quite a lot of pine cones. The flavor is pretty sweet I think, but there’s enough bitterness to give it some sort of balance. Peaches and tropical fruits too. Full to medium body with a nice carbonation level. Bitter, fruity finish. An easy drinkable and quite tasteful one. 131231

Bottle 500ml. @ [ The Danish Summer Gathering, TSODRBSG13 ].Murky matt medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, pine, tropical fruit, orange - citrus.
