The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

Clear orange beer, big aery yellow head, little stable, bit adhesive. aroma: lots of citrus, grapefruit, very piny, honey touch, mango. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: little sour, pretty bitter, citrus, grapefruit, fruity, some pineapple. Aftertaste: bitter, citrus, dry, little sour, some pineapple and tangerines.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Viktoriagade
Cloudy golden color with creamy persistent head. Very nice fruity hop aroma, peachy. Dry and lean mouthfeel; not much malt or toffee flavor, still it has a nice bitterness level and hoppy character, quite fruity; unfortunately it also has a bit too much yeast character.
Good showcase for hops, but the base is unclean.

Re-rate Sept 2014 @ Crowbar, Oslo. - golden with lasting white head. Strong hoppy aroma. Piney, almost oily. Thickmoily texture. Flavour of citrus peel and green oily hops. The bitterness level seems well controlled though. Very full flavoured for only 6%. --- Borefts 2013 - Pale yellow colour. Citrus aroma. Flavour is also citrusy with some sweeter fruitier notes too 8-3-7-3-15=3.6

Tap @ Borefts ’13. Hazy orange colour with a small white head. Smells apricot, fruity, hoppy and fresh. Tastes fruity, hoppy, fresh, apricots: great. Too much carbo for me, medium body. Would’ve probably scored a 4.0 if it had less carbo.

bbf 13 pours blonde, good white foam . smells realy fruity . taste is bitter, yet sweet. much mango and other fruits. a great beer 4,2 Re-rate ; Bottle at pre-borefts tasting . Not as fruity from bottle ( age ? ) and more on the green hops . Aromatic character is there, but should be more intense .

Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. Hazy orange with a white head. Very hoppy nose, bitter floral & citrus hops, fruity, tropical. Bitter floral & slightly tropical fruity taste, lots of juicy hops, mango, touch sweetness, hint caramel malts. m/m body. Very lovely borderline or already IPA in my opinion, fresh, great stuff here.
