The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

0,50 bottle purchased at the Hoppy Imports (Greece) and consumed in Kosovo. Pours an incredible hazy golden amber color, tick and long-lasting off-white cap. Nose: amazing tangerine notes along with orange juice and grapefruit. So fresh and intense nose, also tropical forward. Mouth: distinctive grassy aftertaste (Amager!) in a balanced body. Soft-medium carbonation, lemony.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese. Pours hazy gold with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus, light stone fruit, and a hint of pine. Med body or better. Hop forward with light stone fruit, then some very lightly roasted caramel, and maybe some citrus. Pine maybe in the long finish. Tasty.

Bottle. Hazy golden orange body. Frothy, off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, caramel, straw and hints of pine. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clean malt backbone with taste of orange and melon. Lingering bitterness. Easy drinking.

Bottle, 0.50l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Cloudy golden orange color with thick creamy off-white head and great lacing. Aroma of melon, tangerine, pine and yeast. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt with mild honey note, follows by refreshing melon and resinous, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and soft carbonation in palate. Melon beer bowl...

(Fresh 500ml bottle from Ølbutikken) Pours very hazy medium amber with a big pillowy whitish head that stays rocky and leaves lots of lace. Fresh bottle means fruity hops with mandarin, lemon zest, a bit of tropical mango/guava note, leafy, caramel and cereal malts. Palate is a little flat in comparison. Some caramel and Munich sweetness with grain. Fruit is quite restrained. Some mandarin flesh. Citrus peel bitterness from the middle on. Slight pine resin note to it. Average body and carbonation level. Smells fantastic but the palate doesn’t really back it up, revealing little of the fruit suggested on the nose.

Hm. Kesernyés élvezet. Szomjoltás felső fokon. Nóncsika szerint sok benne az aromakomló.

Good, rather dense yellowish head over faintly clouded orange-golden beer. Warm fruity & citrussy hops abound, some carame, lightly toasted malts. Bitter, citruspeel, citrusflavours. Faintly spicy, rootspices. Finish is serious hopoil bitterness. Spritzy, not very well-bodied. A decent IPA, sorry, APA. Experiencing a déjà vu feel. Sorry, déjà gouté.
