The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

Bottle purchased at 7-11, Kittery, ME. Thick head on a hazy gold liquid. Aroma is tropical fruity, sugar and bready malts.

The flavor starts with the tropical fruits with notes of caramel and bready through the main base with straw and pine and floral notes rounding out the finish. Tastes like sugar was added. Dry in texture with a moderate amount of bitterness. Borderline IPA and tasty but for the price… cheaper to pick up something more local.

500ml bottle, batch 744, from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Shared with Elisabeth and Stefan. A decent, rocky, white head to a hazy golden body. Aroma stone fruits, peach and pine. Lots a succulent citrus and tropical fruits to the taste buds with mild malty sweetness beneath. Mid-dry citrus peels to the ending. Well balanced and well bodied. Refreshing. A nice one (Tromsø 20.10.2014).

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy orange colour with a light beige, creamy head. Fruity aroma of apricot, lime, mowned grass, mint, fruity hops and some caramel and pine. The flavour has more fruity hops with grapefruit and tropical fruits in the background. Pretty sweet as well. Has a slick mouth feel, and a balanced bitterness. A fruity and sweet APA with a nice bitterness.

On tap @ Henrik. Looks really good this. A cloudy peach orange colored body under a huge lasting really dense white head. Peachy fruity nose. There's tones of grass and mild licorice. Quite pleasant. Tastes really good also. Superbly fresh and we'll hopped. Citrus and wet oranges, or perhaps clementines is more precisely. Sharp kinda stingy. A really flavorful IPA creation. Sweet marmalade in the finish. I could easily drink this again. 06.09.2014

Bouteille 50cl, batch# 850, BB 08/2015.
