Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold, and dark. The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti's notoriously roasty backbone, and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle creates a unique dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a gentle beast.

Poured from 650mL bottle @ Black Xmas. Very dark brown with small beige head. Oaty chocolate, prefer other Yetis, but nice.

(Bottle) Black colour with creamy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, dried fruit, prunes and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, cacao, dried fruit, prunes, raisins, vanilla, some treacle, hints of tar and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite powerful taste, with a smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Very nice.

Bottle. Black with a tan head that's never less than good coat. Aroma of mocha, brioche, earthy berries - it's nice but makes you wonder whether the softening is going to prove a little much. But no: whilst there is a smoothness that suggests oats and certainly makes it less brash than normal Yeti, the roast and bitter chocolate pull things back towards stern. The raisins I thought I could pick up in the aroma vanish. Tidy bitterness.

Bottle from Village Beer Merchant. Black coloured. Roasted malts, lots of coffee. Some smoothness - coming from the oats I guess. Good stuff.
