Every year since its inception in 1992, we strive to honor the original Bourbon County Stout recipe. And, 30 years later, we continue Gregory Hall’s legacy and passion for making the best beer possible, starting with the best barrels the bourbon trail has to offer. This year, our Imperial Stout is aged and blended from freshly emptied bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill, Four Roses, Wild Turkey, and Buffalo Trace distilleries. Expect flavors of vanilla, dark chocolate, toffee, molasses, almond, and dried fruit.

(Draft at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 5 Aug 2026) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasty nose with notes of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak wood and raisins. Malty, roasty, slightly boozy taste with bourbon, oak wood, raisins, vanilla, rum, treacle, chocolate, caramel and a balanced cacao bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, boozy and warming with a generous barrel character. Still in great balance. Excellent stuff!

Rumors are dark malt, toffee, roast, molasses, prunes. Flavors are similar to nose adding in some oak. Excellent body and carbonation. Touches of coffee and cocoa. Sweetness is just right. Very nice.

Bottle, 2021 vintage, two months before bbd. Pours black, with a creamy mocha head. Aroma is sweet malty notes of bread, muscovado, tobacco and liquorice, as well as tannins and bourbon barrels. Creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is slightly burned, roasted malts with dark bread, cocoa nibs and leathery minerals, as well as tannins and bourbon barrels.
