Hops, hops, hops. The Kompaan 58 Handlanger has skipped the process of a normal IPA and has hopped over to adulthood. Backwards engineering! Lots of hops: Simcoe, Amarillo and El Dorado and three kinds of malts. A full flavored double IPA of 8.2%, but beware!
This beer is strong, but doesn’t taste as quite as dangerous--just like a night on the town with your “handlangers” (accomplices). Citrusy notes in smell and taste in combination with a tropical fruit palate and a bittersweet aftertaste.

Blik gedeeld met LiekevdV en BramL. Het is een troebel oranje geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van fruit en hop. De smaak is vol, fruitig, hoppig en bitter.

Can. Pours slightly hazy orangeish straw with small white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with estery and hoppy touches. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish notes of fruit and malt, and estery touches. Malty and hoppy aftertaste. Satiating, tasty, and well-balanced. Decent stuff.

Can, 8.2%. Caramelly aroma, hint of vanilla. Hazy dark golden colour. Stable white head. The flavour is malty, caramelly, sweetish, creamy with a touch of vanilla. Low bitterness for the style.

Bottle shared with Sarah at doerak Delft. A clear mid orange coloured pour with a lasting creamy white head. Aroma is big resinous piney hop, orange tangerine, soap,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, biscuity malts, resinous hop, pine needles and orange rind, chewy toffee malts. Palate is semi sweet, chewy, moderate carbonation. Good old school stuff.

Bottle from DeBierkonig, Amsterdam, 29th September 19. Surprised, I’ve not had this before. Pours a nice orange copper colour. Aroma is citrus pith, candied orange, boiled sweets. Taste is bitter, pithy, candied orange, light bitter citrus pith, strong malt backbone, solid bitter, pithy linger. True to the west coast style and a good one.

Bottle. Amber color. Cloudy. Pineapple, red berries and citrus in the aroma. Herbal grassy flavor with red berries and citrus. A clearly present hopbittermess. Satisfyingly balanced. Good beer!
