Hops, hops, hops. The Kompaan 58 Handlanger has skipped the process of a normal IPA and has hopped over to adulthood. Backwards engineering! Lots of hops: Simcoe, Amarillo and El Dorado and three kinds of malts. A full flavored double IPA of 8.2%, but beware!
This beer is strong, but doesn’t taste as quite as dangerous--just like a night on the town with your “handlangers” (accomplices). Citrusy notes in smell and taste in combination with a tropical fruit palate and a bittersweet aftertaste.

Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 01.07.19. Hazy orange. Diminishing beige head. Sweet aroma of butterscotch, honey and heather. Equally sweet taste of butterscotch, Sevilla marmalade, mandarins and dried papaya. Solid bitterness.

On tap at Arendsnest Amsterdam. Darker orange/golden coloured, medium sized white head, mild herbal grassy citrusy nose. Sweet malty, caramel, citrusy, mild grassy and herbal with noticable alcohol. Moderate bitter fruity finish. Nothing special here.

Bottle at de pass, den hash. Orange color, hazed, thick creamy head, fairly lasting. Taste is very malty and grainy, juicy hops follows, resiny and fruity. Sweet feeling, mild bitterness. Medium bodied, very smooth and easy to drink. I can't believe this is an 8+ Not aggressive as usually those in the style.

330mL bottle, pours a filthy, cliudy dark orangey brown with a medium beige head. Nose smells rather oxidized, with cardboard, light earthy hops, and toasted bready malt. Flavour confirms the nose, with earthy hops, toasted caramel bready malt, and cardboard. Not sure this was ever that great fresh, but shame on the Bulgarian bottle shop selling this old shit to me.

330ml bottle bought at a Dirk van den Broek store. Near-clear amber body, off-white head, spotty lacing. Aroma of malty fruit, dry. Mixed taste of ripe citrus, apricot and almond. Lingering dried fruity end with warming alcohol. Well bodied. Nice, a bit heavy to drink though. (Shared with Leif, hotel room, Amsterdam 10.09.2018).

Unclear, golden-orange colored, medium frothy white head. Aroma is of malt, caramel, some orange hardcandy notes, citrus, fruity moderate hops. Taste is medium+ sweet malt and caramel, orange hard candy, citrus and some fruity medium hops and bitterness, dry finish, bit buttery notes. Medium bodied, soft+ carbonation, oily. Oxidized and way past it's prime, guess that's to blame on supermarket handling... (bottle)
