Tap @ Beer Temple (sample size glass). Very dark, almost black color. Uneven beige head. Aroma’s: boozy, juniper, roasted malts. Retronsasl: booze/alcohol, chocolate, roasted, moderate sweet. Flavor is hardly sweet, light alcoholic, a bit fruity sour, roasted. Alcohol feel is still not too strong. Medium bodied. Finishes lightly dry, very herbal, light roast and bitter. A bit weird but OK.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head, lacings. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, light caramel, belgian yeast, sweets, licorice, light spice, light piney hops. Flavor is light sweet, malty, caramel, candy sugar, light spice, light hops, light licorice, fennikel, alcohol. Medium to full body, lively carbonation, light warming alcohol in the finish. 030415

33cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black, the consistency of crude oil and with a lovely fluffy fawn head. Nose - burnt wood, liquorice and that charcoal note in between. It’s more gentle than expected. Taste - candied sugar intermingled with dark chocolate, liquorce and molasses. Alcohol burn on the finish and the lasting note is sweet liquorice. Palate - full bodied with a creamy texture and a long persistent finish. There is sweetness and dryness at the same time. Overall - delicious though the alcohol does stand out a bit too much.

Bottle 330ml. [ As Mikkeller Santas Little Helper 2014 ].Clear dark black brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, spicy, mint, light vegetables. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, mint, soapy, roasted, alcohol, salty licorice, chocolate, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20141229]

On tap @ Pingvinen, Bergen. Pours black, with a small creamy mocha head. Aroma is wooden yeast and roasted malts with coffee, cocoa and tobacco. Full creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts with dark fruits, tobacco, muscovado and cocoa, as well as coffee and wood. Sweet fruity malts in the finish.
