Draft at Beer Temple. Aroma is very herbal, with anise, cinnamon and cacao. Taste of spices, cinnamon, chocolate, brown malt, hazelnut and dry coffee. Has traits in the aroma and taste of a barrel aged beer, like with cognac. This gives it an extra boozy layer. Very good.

Bottle from Cornelius. Black body with a huge beige head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma of soy sauce, espresso, marzipan and dark chocolate. Flavour of black pepper, dried fruit, wood and prunes. Medium body with a slick, oily texture. Light fizz. Tasty but not as complex as I’d hoped.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Decent tan-coloured, bubbly head over a pitch black body. Lacing rings down the glass. Smoothly roasted, confectionery aroma. Rich taste of nuts, liquorice, and dark chocolate followed by dark fruity bitterness to the ending. Velvety in the mouth. Hidden alcohol. Nice sipper qualities (at home, 30.12.2014).
