Voor de nazomer hebben we dit keer de White IPA gebrouwen, een smakelijke kruising tussen een witbier en een IPA. De tarwemout zorgt voor een frisse smaak met een licht zuurtje, aangevuld door een volle bitterheid van de Chinook hop en een stevige dryhop met Amarillo en een klein beetje Chinook. Voor wat extra frisheid zijn er ook nog een paar limoenen en wat gedroogde sinaasappelschil in de White IPA gegaan. Een lekker smaakbommetje dus om heerlijk mee de nazomer in te gaan.

Bottle. A dense, off-white head of two-finger height forms over a lighlty hazy golden body. The aroma has quite a lot of orange, with some pale malts and pine cones. A generic citrusy touch too. Perhaps a bit too much carbonation in the mouth, but it’s nice anyway, semi-dry and full-bodied. Citrus dominates the flavor too, with a nice bitterness added. Not much maltyness going on. A pretty pleasant one, this one, with the yeast doing a nice job with a mostly IPA-ish beer. 140117

Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, soap, citrus, tropical and hint of yeast. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter with a long fruity and bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. Nice creamy head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are pleasant bitter hops, flowers, pine, malt, grass and straw. Nice and pleasant. High drinkability.

Taste: some citrus first, very soapy, floral, bit sourish, some citrus fruits, very bitter. Aftertaste: unpleasant bitterness, soapy, bit floral, some citrus, banana noticeable.

Bottle shared by Dutchdrebus @ weekly tasting. Hazy yellow color, full sized decently lasting white head. Aroma is lightly wheat, quite citrussy, lightly yeasty. Taste lightly wheat, citrus, decently bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Nice.

Bottle @ home shared by me. Clear slightly pale yellow colour with a medium sized white head. Smells hoppy, citra, grassy, fruity, lemongrass, fresh. Great! Tastes lemongrass, fruity, fresh, hops.. Quite great! Thin to medium body, soft carbo.

Thanks bierkoning! Yellow-golden color, small white head. Pineapple, mango, citrus in the nose. Medium-bodied. Citrusy, grapefruity flavor - quite hoppy-"tart" flavor. A bit weaker on malt side, but nice UPA.

330ml bottle. More or less clear golden colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Wheaty and grassy hoppy aroma, hints of lemon, a spicy yeasty touch in onion and garlic direction. Taste is strawy wheaty, minimally husky, chalky, mineral, more medicinal than hoppy bitterness, a touch of lemon; lively carbonation. Not fully convincing.

Bottled, BB 06/2014, large sample. Cloudy golden color, thick off-white head. Aroma has some citrussy hop, garlic, onion, bit peppery yeast, some wheat, hint of bubblegum. Medium bitter in taste, hint of grapefruit and citrus, quite dry, again a bit spicy. Maybe a bit too dry on the finish and a bit thin on body. Slight hint of tartness. It reminds me a bit of the latest saison or farmhouse IPA hype. Ok beer, but a bit unbalanced.
