2025 into a wineglass showing amber brown with sparse white foam.

The nose shows intense notes of sweet caramel.

The palate is light bodied and lightly carbonated. Dry with a bourbon forward vanilla smokiness throughout and a moderate hoppy bitterness on the finish.

Double whammy! This followed the FW Stickee Monkee. Alcohol burn apparent, but not overpowering. Pure barley essence, aroma and taste. A real gem.2014, 2015 & 2016 versions rated.

Sample during Blarney Wine Festival 2025 on 03/15/2025. Dark mahogany pour with a thin foamy light beige head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of bourbon, oak, malt and hops. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, dark fruit, earthy hops and caramel malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Hoppier than some of the older versions, and still holding up well.

Has aged nicely, soft and malty with some barrel, vanilla and toffee

Boozy, sweet, malty. Caramel, raisin, molasses. Some alcohol heat still, pretty smooth, nice.

Bit oxidized but bit of an English barleywine so it's cool.

A great example of its style, nicely malt forward, lots of dried fruit, heavy and a bit alcoholic. Nice balance between malty sweetness and big bitterness. Bourbon ageing adds complexity. Very very smooth, supple drinking yet clearly big and heavy.

Mellow and perfectly balanced. Hint of sherry oxidation but not old enough to completely hide the barrel. Lovely!
