Broeder Jacob Double Port is the first Belgian beer to be fortified with port. This brand new combination has brought something new to the beer landscape. The dark and full-flavoured beer has a subtile aftertaste of walnuts and produces a unique taste explosion that can develop to the flavour of a true vintage. The beer is fortified with the exquisite Tawny port Portal d’Azenha. This elegant and delicate port matures for at least five years in oak barrels. Enjoy this exclusive beer! EBC 120.

Corked bottle. Deep dark brown color. Surprisingly restrained aroma. Dried fruit, malt. Malty sweet vinous flavor. The porto is clearly noticeable. Raisins and some roast. Alcohol. Pleasant enough.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with tan. Aroma is rich sweet malts, with hint of booze. Taste is boozy with some dark fruit and heat, finish is dry.

Bottle from the Bottle shop on Wollestraat, Brugge, Belgium. A murky dark brown coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, banana. Tastes quite similar, sweet, dark fruit, caramel, banana, spice and slight red wine.

At Daverlo, Assebroek. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, foamy, tan head. Intense aroma of roasted malt, nuts, brandy, dried & candied fruits, spices, caramel and port. It tastes medium caramel-like/fruity sweet and light spicy bitter, warming up to a woody and liqueur-like finish. Full body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Give this to me as a nightcap every day and I'm a happy man.

33cl bottle. Hazy brown. Tall frothy head of beige. Stays. Spicy front aroma. Cinbamon. Also caramel, burnt sugar, toffee, a solventy hint, fruit & perfume. Nice. Medium to full body. Lively carnonation. Medium sweet taste follows the aromatic picture. Complex enough. Slightly harsh alco / hop bitterness at finish. Still fine

Vöröses-feketés sötétbarna szín, nagy, tartós, bézs hab. Karamelles, fűszeres, enyhén vörösboros illat. Édeskés, karamelles, vörösboros, vaníliás, hordós ízvilág, némi cseresznyés és kávés felhanggal. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Finom, jól sikerült sör.
