KOMES PORTER reflects the history of brewing, referring to the 18th century tradition of brewing porters in the Baltic states. At their prime, Baltic porters represented one third of the market, which is the best evidence of their popularity. We offer you a well-balanced, dark, strong beer with a distinct flavour. Slow fermentation at low temperatures in open vats, coupled with long (at least 3 months) maturation have resulted in the beer’s character and complete, complex nature. The Porter’s bouquet matures further in the bottle. Time is on its side.

Bottle. Darkest brown, grey lace. Chocolate aroma, light dusty. Very mineral and burned chocolate notes, sticky burned chocolate powder. Overly roasted. A bit too aggressive for me.

Black with little brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, some cherries, wood, leaves, a hint of vanilla. Taste is sweet chocolate with bitter coffee, a tad spicy while swallowing. Still smooth and nice.

Flaska från Ebrowarium.pl drucken med ölföreningen. En kraftfull, kryddig och ganska komplex porter. Rågbröd, kryddiga träslag typ ceder eller tuja, torv, kaffe, kungens karameller men också blåbär. Riktigt gott.

Bottle from Hopt, 25 cl sample. Dark color, short frothy head. Aroma of dark chocolat, quite some roasted malts and coffee and slight dark fruity blackcurrant. Soft malty bitterness, some blackcurrant fruitiness and licoricey and roasty coffee. Good balance, moderate complexity. Good stuff.

Butelka. Goryczki praktycznie brak. Wol? inne podej?cie do porteru ba?tyckiego...
