0.375l bottle. Dark ruby body, no head. There is a chance that I picked a spoiled bottle, because both the aroma and taste is like cheap rum mixed with cheap cola and lemon juice.

Bottle shared at the Press Dean’s Button tasting. Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma of toffee, plastercine, malt. Flavour is moderate sweet. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

A dark brown beer with a quite weak and blond head. The nose is quite sweet, lots of dark fruits, some prune, cherries and earthy sourness, nice aroma. Taste of dark fruits, quite strong sourness, nice and balanced sweetness, cellar. More sourness in the end with some biting herbs. Medium bodied, easy to drink. Quite nice, and unique beer.

The faro beers came into existence because some people couldn’t handle the strong sourness of the lambiek beers. Therefore, they added sugar. So a faro will always be a sweetened version of a lambiek, in other words: inferior. No matter how great Girardin is, this beer style is just bad.

Flaske hos Ole Anders juni-13: lett syrligsøt aroma og lett en forfriskende letthet med snev av fjøs i smaken. Min første faro, og dette frister til gjentagelse. Både interessant og godt. Ikkee for søt og heller ikke for sur. Bare godt.

Flaska från beernavigator. Brun med drag åt rött, klar till jästfällningen följer med, lågt skum. Söt doft av honung, dadlar, farinsocker, söta äpplen med en lite geuzedoft i bakgrunden. Smaken som doften d v s söt, syran balanserar den något men det är ändå i sötaste laget. Smakbilden är dock mycket trevlig men torkad frukt och honung.

I decided to double my faro rates so I ordered this from The George & the Dragon. I didn’t care for my first faro brew but this is much better. Pours murky brown with musky dark fruits on nose along with that bizarre belgian sugar. Tastes isn’t too sweet which was nice surprise. You get plenty of sugar though, figs, toffee, earth, and basement. some bitterness on finish. odd but thats the style

Bottle. Hazy amber with an off white head. Aroma is sweet fruit, a little tartness. Flavour is caramel and some soft fruits, raspberry. Finish is dry and a little sour.

375mL bottle at Grote Dorst, pours a fairly clear copper golden with a medium off-white head. Aroma of candied sugar mixed with some dried funky fruits. Flavour is unlike any faro I've had, with a sweetened version of barnyard funk without actually differentiating the sugar -- secondary flavours of leather and cardboard. Completely unique -- the sugar doesn't seem to come out separately from the other flavours, but rather just modified the base gueuze. Bizarre stuff for me, but certainly enjoyable. Not what I was expecting. Good experience.
