Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle shared outside the brewery tap - Buttenheim, 25/01/14. Hazed rich golden amber with a little off white head. Nose is light spice, caramel, floral tang, orange, straw. Taste comprises bitter orange, earthy, bread dough, lashings of citrus fruit, grassy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light hoppy tingle in the closure. Nice stuff.

St. Georgen Bräu KellerBier, mehrere Flaschen (von verschiedenen Händlern). - Bernsteinfarben. - Nussig-malzig, fruchtig-herbes Röstmalz, viel fruchtig-herber Hopfen, langer fruchtig-herber bitterer Nachtrunk. - Erinnert an ein gut gehopftes englisches Ale und ist weitaus besser gehopft als die meisten anderen fränkischen Landbiere, die ich kenne. Ganz große Klasse! (13.11.2013.)

500ml bottle from Beer Hawk - Deep cloudy orange amber body, frothy white/beige head. Fresh sweet orchard fruit aroma, vaguely spicy and musty. Lively sweet fresh pear juiciness up front, clean malt, a little toasty breadiness, and a dry crisp quenching finish.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass darker than exspected, nice head. Starts intense malty-yeasty, fine roasty notes, hints of caramel. Mild dry background. Malty-dry finish. Has something from a good dunkel.

Draught at Fermentoren. Slightly hazy, amber-golden colour with a small, white head. Sweet aroma with with bread and caramel malts, lightly toasted. Very bread-like actually, also some sweet fruits. Taste is light bitter. Medium body, average carbonation. Finishes bitter with bread malts and fruity notes. Too much bread flavour, otherwise pleasent - the fruitiness really saves this Kellerbier.
