(Keg at Black Door, 20151218) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had vineousness, dark chocolate, burnt malts and vanilla. Palate full bodied and oily with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vanilla, dark chocolate, salty liquorice, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was vineous, burnt and bitter. A very tasty brew that had spent time in barrels.

Draught @ Black Door, Helsinki. Pours dark reddish brown, almost black with a small head. Aroma of sourish berries, hints of funky yeast, wood, oak and vinous notes. Taste is smooth, slightly funky yeasty and earthy with some tartish berries, mild sourness and vinous notes, hints of chocolate and syrup. Finish is funky, woody and mildly tart with some berry juice notes, hints of roastiness and sweetness. Interesting. Reminds me of a lighter, less aggressive version of Lost Abbeys Red Poppy Ale.

Keg@ Black Door. Rating nr #5000. Beer pours deep mahogany, dark brown even, with a thin but lasting light brown head. Red wineish notes, vanilla, chocolate notes. Flavor has toffee quite strong, light vanilla, port wine notes, clearly present, chocolate notes pushing through in the finish later on. Balanced. Awesome, the barrel really has done good here.
