Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Fairly non-descript APA but that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with this one. A decent portion of hops and malt. Light floral and citrus hops backed by biscuit malt. Easy going and easy drinking. Pretty good.

Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear golden, airy head. Light aroma of tangerine and butter. Fairly lighjt bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. A bit sweet and grainy. The mild tangerine hops are followed by a really bitter finish. A straightforward, almost nondescript pale ale.

Weak pale ale, too light and too bitter for what it wants to be, not very pleasant at all. The nose is flat and grainy, meaning the hops sneak up on you as you sip the pint. Thin texture mingles with an assertive, medicinal bitterness; you wait in vain for the malt sweetness to balance the dry finish, but it’s watery pine all the way down. Much better pale ales to be found on the shelves.

Pours bright deep gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Sour pine aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning to pumpernickel before the lasting sour resin finish.

From a bottle. Pop and the smell is uh oh very piney and fresh. Looks like a pale lager in the glass, perhaps a tad darker yellow. A little bold on the first taste with that piney aroma carrying over to the flavor. Seems to be a little stronger than 5%. Rubs me a little the wrong way, but of course, its an ale and most ales do. Bitter finsh reminds me of many strong pils. Nifty label.

Clear golden pour - fizzy, quickly dissipating head - nose of floral hops, rye, honey, toast - flavor is initially of crackery malts - this, coupled with faint diacetyl makes it taste a bit more British - diacetyl seems intentional and is not strong or off-putting - tail end gets a little more dry, as spicy rye comes to the fore, finishing with lightly peppery hops - light, crisp, subtle - a so-so lawnmower beer.

Faint orange peel aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Stale malt and overripe lemon. Drinks old despite the fact that my sample is about as fresh as you can get on the market.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a thin white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of earthy hops with a rye bite. The taste is bitter hops, rye, toasted malts. Bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice enough.
