Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Bottle @ home, bought at De Bierkoning, shared with Dutchdrebus. Hazy almost pale orange color, medium sized white head that disappears fully within a couple of seconds. Aroma of malts, some hops, a bit oxidised so I guess it’s a bit old. Taste malts, lightly hops, lightly bitter. Nothing fruity really, and again a bit old. Or maybe it has been in the store in the light for too long. So all things considered: I think it’s a decent APA when it’s fresh, but now it’s not that good. Too bad.

Bottle @ benzai. Clear pale yellow colour with a shortly lived white head. Smells some hay, some grapefruit, slightly hoppy, cardboard. Tastes some cardboard, some hops, slightly fruity and some pina. Soft carbo, thin to medium body. Probably not very fresh.

Tap sample at In de Wildeman. Clear golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, cookie dough, sweet floral hops. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, caramel, light grainy and light spicy, light bitter finish. Light bodied. Meh..

Bottle in Fonefan room Borefts 4. clear gold thin lasting white head. Sweetish apa aroma. Hops are ok but it has this sweet american malt i am not keen on. Quite bitter 3.3/5. Bottle from Mouton Rouge Canterbury and drunk at home. Clear gold lasting white head. spicy hops yes. I like it as an APA. Refreshing hoppy, fruity, spicy and eminently drinkable.

Draught@Earl Of Essex, London. Orange colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, nectary, grassy and nicely malty. Flavour is fruity, floral, caramelly and also has some slight toffeeish notes. Nice brew, but nothing mind blowing.

Bottle. Pour is pale golden straw. Big white head leaves nice lacing. Floral hoppy aroma I like. Taste I do not. Sweet, metallic, soapy, bready, malty, BLEHHH. Thats it, just not a very good example IMHO.

Tap. Pours clear light amber with a small white head and some lacing. Aroma is quite nice with notes of grapefruit and pine. Flavor is more watery than expected, with notes of citrus and grass, with off-notes of metal coming on late and going into the medium bitter finish.
