Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

Keg at White Horse. It pours orange=amber, with a thin white head. The nose is sweet malt, orange, boiled sweets and maybe a touch of sweaty sock. The taste is very light, hay, orange, citrus pith, lemony soap, spice, straw and faint tropical fruit. Light body and moderate carbonation. Easy drinking, but relatively unexciting.

$1.85 bottle from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours slightly hazy apricot color with no head. Smells of sweet fruits, honey, almost grape. Lightly flavored - finishes with a nice crisp apricot.

12oz bottle pours clear copper with gold hues and thin off white head. The modest aroma has some malt sweetness backed up by a mild level of spicy to just vague hoppiness. The taste rolls out various hoppy notes like bland sort of spicy hops, some mild earthy hops and faint floral hops hit before sweet sugar malts surge forward to about midway. The modest and mostly vague hop bitterness mix with a bit of malts taking this into the finish. Meh, so so offering.

Hazy golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of fresh grassy and slightly grapefruity hops with some malt and a touch of fruity sweetness. Light-bodied; Odd grassy flavour at first then shows a lot of malt bitterness, some watery hops and a little bit of earthing funk at the end. Aftertaste has no body at all, only a little flavour and a hint of bitterness. Overall, not such a great beer - the flavour depth doesn’t exist and the complexity shows more like a pale lager. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church (Bailey’s Crossroads), Virginia on 08-February-2012 for US$9.99/6pack sampled at home in Washington on 14-March-2012.

Fra kran på Olympen, Oslo 18 Okt 11. Lys gylden. OK kremaktig skum som ligger igjen i nivåer mens en jobber seg nedover i glasset. Litt uklar. Frisk fruktig aroma. Ananas & epler. God! Balansert fruktig smak. Sitrus & aprikos. Variert tørr bitterhet etterhvert.

Small sample, on tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden colour, large head. Lovely hoppy and spicy aroma and flavour - an excellent beer, as far as I could tell. Will rerate as soon as I get a bigger sample (had to drive tonight).
