Sane or senseless? Harmless or harmful? Sometimes it takes awhile to get to know a stranger. Initial impressions are not always reality, so you must delve deeper. Beyond the initial floral hop aromas, malt sweetness is revealed, yet with a spicy undertone that exposes a very rye sense of humor. Take your time to get to know the Stranger. It’s strangely satisfying.

A golden ale with a thick lacing white head. In aroma, nice light floral hops with light citrusy notes, very classic. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with light floral hops, and mineral notes, not bad. Sampled at Bierkraft, Dec. 27 2011.

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at MDL in Overland Park, Kansas. Pour is a lightly hazed golden orange with a minimal white head. The aroma is caramel malt and citrus orange and grapefruit hop bitterness. The nose gets a bit dirty earthy as it warms. Taste is a nice bright citrus up front, blended nicely with the lightly sweet malt. Nice bread toast character comes out as it warms. Palate is light to medium bodied, nice unfiltered mouth feel, mineral dry and crisp finish. Bright, refreshing beer.

Bottle. Light gold with a frothy white head, mostly diminishing. The aroma shows notes of resin, toasted grain, bread. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. The finish is lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A thin beer with not a lot of depth or character. Taste of citrus and grain and they leave an off taste in the finish. Below average APA.

bottle - This brew has an aroma of citrus and pine hops. The flavor is similar with a good balance of sweet malt. This medium bodied brew has moderately bitter and overall is a solid pale ale.
