Bottle shared at RBESG 2014 Grand Tasting. Cloudy white color, small white head. Smell and taste sourness, sour fruits, slightly plant like. Nice dry finish with some fruits. Decent body and carbonation.

Bottle grand tasting RBESG14. Very pale gold lasting white head. Lemony bit of lactic. Decent enough. Ok sourness.

A cloudy, light yellow colour, a head is medium and white. The nose has malts, some sourness, lemon an dry grain. Taste is slightly different than aroma with a strong sourness, lemon, grain and some grass. More malts in the end. Refreshning, strong carbonation, light but not watery. This is the first Berliner Weisse for me. Weird combination of strong sourness and light malts with lemon and without wheat. Interesting and fresh.

Traditional Berlin ’Schankbier’ and the archetype of its style, light wheat beer with lactic acid infusion; yellowish white, loose and quickly dissolving head, colour a ’dirty’ straw yellow, equally misty. Wheaty aroma with soft pale malts, flowery hops, apple, hay and lemon juice. Quite pungent and surprisingly sharp taste (clearly lactic acid, which tastes sour but has no smell), lemony on a soft wheat basis, mineral-like thanks to strong carbonation, fruity accents, sourishness stays till the finish where apart from the citric acidity, a more mellow lactic acidity also appears, further adding to a dry, refreshing and thirst-quenching end. Body fuller than expected because of the strong carbonation - in spite of this basically being a low-alcohol beer. Very interesting tasting experience, very interesting style.
