Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours clear copper with beige head. Aroma of chocolate, plums, dark bread, dark dried fruits. Tastes pretty sweet with little bitterness. Medium bodied, fruity finish.

Bottle from Waitrose, West Byfleet (£2 compared to the £3.71 that this site is advertising it for on Beerhawk). Yeasty dark fruit aroma. Opaque dark brown. Foamy light beige head. Light bitter. Some sourness. Muted figs and similar. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Abrupt finish. Enjoyable enough. Slips down silkily without making a particular impression. .

Dark malty sweetness, herbal nutmeg touch and soft chocolate and toffe taste. A real good breakfast 😉

his is super nice. Quite wheaty as you'd expect but it's got a lovely malt taste too, making it rich and smooth. Quite simple but it's a lovely combination.

Smell of cognac, some banana, bread. Dark brown colour, light brown head. Aroma of banana, wheat, yeast, dough, some oak and cognac. Sweet. Lively carbon. Nicely leaning towards doppelbock in flavours.

Had this at the Erdinger Hotel and restaurant in town, Erding, Bavaria, Germany Friday 18th January 2019. Poured into a ceramic jug so not 109% sure of colour but appears to be dark when viewed from above. Malty with some caramel, sweet and with a little alcohol hit. Ok but a little bit sweet.
