The Rothaus Pils Tannenzäpfle has existed since 1956—so for almost 60 years. Its unusual name is embodied on the labels of the 0.33 l bottles. The original Tannenzäpfle labels depicted spruce branches accompanied by pinecones. These pinecones are what gave this beer its name. But there’s one other characteristic that makes the Tannenzäpfle special; it was the first Rothaus beer to emerge with a label depicting “Biergit”, the Black Forest girl holding two glasses of beer. Today, “Biergit” is the defining symbol for all beers made by the Rothaus Brewery.

0,33l, bottle.
A better pilsener than the Edelhopfen one. Found out they were the first brewery to introduce smaller (330ml) bottles to the market.

Pours clear gold with a small white head. Smells of grain malt with a hint of lemon. The flavor is of grainy, biscuity malt with a nice, balanced mild hops bitterness. Finishes hoppy. Light bodied. Easy drinking

33 cl bottle.Golden colour with almost no head.Sweet malt with some spruce/herbal hints.Average/low carbo. According to most casual german beer drinkers that’s one of the beers that you should be drinking .Excellent drinkability but not that amazing.

0.33 l bottle. Pours golden color with nice thick white head. Malts, some corn in aroma. Well rounded bittersweet taste with bitterish finish. Light body, lively carbonated. Not too complex yet decent pilsner.
