Horny Devil is our interpretation of a Belgian-style Golden Ale. Brewed with authentic Belgian ingredients including candi sugar and a Trappist yeast strain, its fruity and spicy aromas include notes of orange, banana, and peppercorns. Coriander seeds add refreshing citrus notes which meld seamlessly with the beer’s delicate malt. Horny Devil finishes with a lively carbonation and a refreshingly dry finish.

Appearance- golden, pretty much no head but plenty of bubbles rising. Aroma- Belgian yeast, spices, orange peel, hint of coriander and herbs, some caramel malt in the background. Taste is spicy malt, orange, yeasty, sweet fruit, hop bitterness, honey-glazed fruitcake, boozy fruits, sweet and sticky in the mouth. Rich, very good stuff. Lasting bittersweet finish.

Blind taste, I would’ve sworn this was a real Belgian. Nails it. Honey goat cheese pairs well, as always. 🐐 🧀 🍺

Smell- weak to medium yeast Belgian, alcohol, caramel. Foam- thin, yeast, Belgian notes, citrus, some sourness. Head is tiny, disappears fast, white color. Appearance- nice brewer bottle cap and I somehow generally like the bottle. It is semi clear orange amber ,there is some sediment in, weak carbonation. From - snifter Taste - yeast, caramel, Belgian notes, some alcohol, there is weak hops mixed with sourness and some acidic tones too, spice. I do not think it works together for me.(on second try it seems bit better though)

bottle@home. Pours golden, head vanishing instantaneously. Sour aromas, maybe some cherry. Taste is rather thin, some hay. Carbon was OK. Finish rather one dimensional. Maybe this bottle wasn't in the best condition.

Not often that I see an AleSmith to try where I live. I spotted this 33 cl bottle at City Swiggers in the upper east side NYC of all places. Brought home and opened tonight for a taste. I go with a Belgian snifter on this, appropriate. The arrival is a mostly clear, bright gold body with a ring of white bubbles, light carbonation. An inviting scent of apricot, spice and some floral. The taste, wow, some depth here. Strong dose of yellow fruit, white bread, clover, a touch of honey sweetness. Semi-full, a small bitterness. Touches all the bases.
