330ml bottle. Clear, dark amber to brown colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Toasty malty, minimally woody and fruity aroma, hints of red berries, a touch of oak. Taste is toasty malty and slightly fruity hoppy, hints of red berries, cherry, weak, slightly dry, woody, almost a bit smoky, oaky overtones, a carbonation induced mineral touch.

Can - Lots of toffee and rich malts. Clear amber with a small white head. Touch of smoke and some nice rich caramel toffee notes. Well done for the style.

Nice malt bill, similar to all their other ales. Seems like a hybrid between a scottish style yeast strain and their house strain.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear copper with a small, fizzy, short lived, beige head that fully dissipates. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, bread, vanilla, oak and just a hint of peat. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, vanilla, oak and light roast with a hint of peat in a mildly dry, bitter finish. Light to medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad. The 7% ABV is well hidden which makes for easy drinking.

On June 19, 2015. At Big Rock Urban Eatery & Brewery, in Vancouver, British Columbia.Clear deep copper oxide color, off-white head. Fruity, soem toffee taste. Dry, fruity aftertaste. Medium to fizzy mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Weird cheese scent.

A fine inviting clear deep nutty color with a tan head. The head vanish quite soon. Fruity, malty and a bit coca cola in the aroma. Nice body and a fine carbonation. Quite fresh and easy to drink. Slightly sweet and an ok bitterness. Dried fruits, caramel malty, some vanilla and mild peat. Quite decent strong scotch ale.

500mL can, pours a hazy burgundy with a small white head. Nose is quite smoky, with ashy smoke upfront a light bready malt. Flavour is about the same, with smoke upfront followed by bready malt. Very simple but pleasant enough. Not overly thrilling but it's drinkable.

Can: Pours red-brown with a short, off-white head. Toffee, berry aroma. Taste is the same....fruity, toffee malt...very sweet. Really tasty, but lacks a certain Scottish richness for the style.
