  Barley Wine - Barley Regular
Score
6.59
ABV: 9.5% IBU: - Ticks: 11

Deep ambery brown colour with a small off-white quickly vanishing head. Aroma is caramel, some cognac sweetness, wood, mild alcohol sweetness too. Flavour is caramel, some wood, mild tartish pears with some slight vanilla and cognac tones. Quite smooth to drink, but kind of lacks the finesse of a top notch BA beer.

Bottled. Dark brown, minimal head. Caramelly nose with lots of cognac. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramel, pears and cognac. Fairly low bitterness. Mostly bold and caramelly.

Flaska från SB, flaskad 2017. Mörk mahogny/rostbrun med liten försvinnande vitbeige krona. Doftar äppelmust, torkade plommon, fikon, ekfat, cognac. Cognacen mer framträdande i smaken. Helt ok, bättre än väntat.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 7 Oct 2016) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit, raisins and hints of nutmeg. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, raisins, prunes, brown sugar and a balanced spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made. Quite nice.

At SBWF 2016. A bit hazy dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of dried fruit, malt, warming alcohol and some oak. The body was medium and the finish rather long.

To one dimensional, and way to rich carbonation for a beer like this. Could be ok with a soft carbonation. Then it would probably have shown some different dimensions.
Amber color with a frothy off white head that soon ends up as a layer on top of the beer. Prunes and some toffee in the aroma. Full body and a to rich carbonation. A bit sweet and oily texture. Prunes all the way and some toffee in the flavor.
