The American Wheat Ale is firmer and hoppier than the average wheat ale. It is fresh but smooth too and it has a refreshing, soft bitterness to it. Credit is due to the Mosaic and Galaxy hops there, which also provide the fruity tones of orange and mango. Fruit of the collaboration: beautiful wheat beer with a bite.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear golden color with medium frothy white head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of pungent grapefruit, passion fruit, pine, wheat and a bit of sweat. Taste starts with medium sweet biscuit malt, following is refreshing citric, grassy and grainy, mouthfeel is mild spicy and dry, while finish is medium bitter. Light to medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Pleasant refreshment...

Bottle from Corks Out, Stockton Heath. Hazy golden-amber with a small head. Mildly hoppy with a light tropical fruitiness in its taste, although understated. It has a nice mouthfeel though.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A pale amber pour with a ring of white head; fresh floral/herbal aroma; smooth and full bodied, with a fresh, honeyed, wheaty body with a herbal bitterness; and a long gentle bitter finish with a touch of warmth. Excellent.

Keg tap at the Old Bicycle Shop, Cambridge. Yellow, nearly clear. A small amount of white head on top. Pineapple and grapefruit scent, which is assertive without being overpowering. Sweet taste with a slight milky/salty note. Medium finish. More citrus and a touch of coconut in the aftertaste. Simple and very good for what it is but don’t expect to have your socks blown off.
