On tap at Abbey Brewing, pours an opaque murky dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of yeast, candied sugar, and dark dried fruits. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of Belgian yeast, candied sugar, toasted nuts, and dark fruits. Very yeast and not capturing the yeast profile all that well. It's okay.

At the source: pours murky brown. Aroma is a bit weird... burnt sort of... not as fruited and candied as most. Cherry and sugar are definitey mlre in the taste. Solid enough.

Good for style. Some like oak and smoke like old campfire. Black pour with good head. Clean finish. Tap at brewpub.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours murky brown with one inch head of tan foam. In the aroma I get blunted and nearly musty dark fruity esters of prunes, dates and sweet black grapes to go along with smooth yeasty spice and dark brown candi sugar. The taste begins with both rich and creamy dark fruitiness from sweet grapes, prunes, figs, pears and sugar ripe plums. It then picks up mild notes of some dark candi sugar as in the nose along with earthiness and spices. Very nice offering with plenty of interesting and smooth yumminess.
