Huge offwhite head. Amber body with strong carbonation. Spicy floral honey aroma with peppery candy notes. Dry-sweetish floral herbal earthy taste with tropical fruit and pepper notes. Mid-bodied. Fizzy, hot, spicy mouthfeel. Dry chalky fruity grassy aftertaste with resiny candy notes. Very nice, and fairly unusual mix of Belgian yeast profile with some IPA characteristics. (0.65l bottle, Fish and Beer, Copenhagen.)

Bomber. Clear golden body. Frothy white head, slowly diminishing. Intriguing and different aroma for a double IPA. There’s the grapefruit, orange and pine that is commonplace in double IPAs. But then there are also notes of toffee, flowers, citrus, herbs and some earthy and bready notes from the Belgian yeast. Hints of spices (clove) honey on top of everything. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes heavily bitter, lightly to moderately sweet and moderately acidic. Long finish. Medium to full body, creamy texture and a caronbation that starts muted, but ends lively. The complex aroma gives you great expectations of complex flavors. Unfortunately, hot alcohol pushes any subtleties aside which is surprising for an 8.5 percent beer. The finish is alcoholic and bitter. If you work at it, you can get tastes of orange, grapefruit and spice. Nonetheless, this is a well-crafted beer and very enjoyable to drink.

Clear copper color, small off-white head. Hoppy, piney, slightly fruity and yeasty. Good fruity, zesty and piney flavor. Mouthfeel is drying in the finish. Nicely hoppy, balanced IPA, and yes, it is a hybrid of Yankee IPA and Belgiam tripel.

Hazy golden with a tiny off white head. Plenty of hops in the aroma with piney, yeasty and grapefruity notes. Flavour had plenty of hops, pine and grapfruits. Finished bitter. Belgian IPA? the style doesn’t exist ....
