Carling Black Label developed as a brand in 1927 from the Canadian brewery Carling O’Keefe's existing Black & White Lager. It was introduced into the UK in 1952. The brand became hugely successful in the UK via a very popular ad campaign with the slogan "I bet he drinks Carling Black Label". The name changed from Carling Black Label to Carling, with the subtitle Original Lager, in 1997.

Draft pint @ Luna y sol, Los Christianos, Tenerife. Clear golden with a white head. Grainy aroma, sweet taste, low bitter finish. Just like every other macro lager except this one or even thinner.

# 2926; 5/2022. Malty, grainy aroma, glucose syrup. Nice lacing persistant white head; brilliant clarity, unusual pinkish gold body. Grainy, corny, watery, light body. Glucose syrup finish. Not as bad as I have expected. Pint, draught, bar, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England.

Keg pint @ KK's Steel Mill, Wolverhampton watching Paradise Lost. Fairly depressing line-up of beers here, a bit surprising given it's a new place. Pours pale gold, lasting white head. Cheap tasting, thin, light.. tastes a bit 3.5%. A touch syrupy, artificially sweet, 'lager' flavoured. Loads of wrong here, couldn't manage another.

I had the resounding choice of Carling, Rekorderlig, or Sam Adams 🤷‍♂️
