Carling Black Label developed as a brand in 1927 from the Canadian brewery Carling O’Keefe's existing Black & White Lager. It was introduced into the UK in 1952. The brand became hugely successful in the UK via a very popular ad campaign with the slogan "I bet he drinks Carling Black Label". The name changed from Carling Black Label to Carling, with the subtitle Original Lager, in 1997.

Appearance- orangy yellow, white head with tight bubbles. Aroma- not much, a bit of corn and cereal. Taste- bitter, thin mouthfeel, nothing much going on at all. Basically fizzy bitter water.

pale yellow colour, huge white head; aroma of some grass, cardboard and maybe some maltyness; horrible taste (some grassy hops, maltyness, cardboard and sourish notes...it’s a disaster!)

Drunk direct from bottle@Arthur Wait Stand, Selhurst Park, London - couldnt see the colour but on other unfortunate experiences from glass always looked pale yellow in colour. Aroma and taste is not allot. Passable grassy, lots of corn, cardboard, high carbonation, extremely watery. Please never again.

Clear pale golden colour, medium white frothy head, vanishes rather quickly, some lacing. Aroma grain, grass, paper, herbs, citrus. Taste light sweet and bitter. Light-bodied, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, crisp mild bittersweet finish with hint of acidity, bbland beer.

Bottled, 0.50l. Clear golden color with large frothy white head, good lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma is grainy, grassy, lemony, dusty, papery and mild skunky. Taste starts with light sweet malt, followed by grainy and grassy sourness, while finished moderate bitter. Light body, dry and thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Plain and boring...

Golden liquid, rocky head. Light body. Aroma: bread, grains, hay, butter. Light sweet taste, watery finish. You get what you expect: a lager to quench thirst. Nothing special but a fair brew without real failures.
