Hazy purplish red - moderate lace - nose has a fair amount of sticky sweetness (plum, caramelized sugars, candied cherries) along with some peppery alcohol and dusty yeast/earthy phenols - flavor is fairly sweet and not terribly complex up front - just some sugars and light esters - dries about a bit through the middle and finish - a fair amount of dry, dirty phenolics - dry, sherry-ish notes - cherry pits - medium bitter fruit skins - finish is hot and fairly boozy - much messier than their other quad.

Draught at the brewery on October 12, 2012Hazy copper color, tan head. Sweet, mineral, alcohol, pehnolic, metallic taste. Yeast and metallic aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Sweet, acidic, phenoles scent. Taste is off for me, one of the first beers on this trip I didn’t want to finish.
