Cask at Borough Arms, Crewe. Pours a golden brown with a small foamy white head and good lacing. The nose is led by toffee and malts, but with traces of fruits and bacon as well. Fruity in the mouth with mushy rotting apples to the fore (but in a good way). Toffee and spices can be discerned as well. Finish is bitter with some floral hops. Drinkable – but more of an autumnal beer than a hot sunny summer one.

Bottle from Tesco, Norwich. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium sized foamy off-white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, toasty bread and hints of citrus. Taste is again the same notes as the aroma with some added floral notes and a nice long earthy bitterness on the finish. Lots of flavour for the low abv. Light to medium bodied with a smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Very good

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass copper coloured, small head. Starts mild, malty, bitter background. Some metallical notes. Finish well balanced, dry malty. Not bad.

Historical tick which I am adding as a rate so that I can see the impact it has on my stats. 500 Beers To Try Before You Die. At the Pickerel (?) in Cambridge. Ditch water.
