The Weiss beer is a traditional German unfiltered wheat beer. It contains 50% wheat malt and is hopped with Brewer’s Gold and Hallertauer hops. This beer has notable clove and banana esters which is a characteristic of this particular yeast strain, which we procured from the Hans Hopf brewery in Meisbock, Germany.

Tap at Cherry Cricket - cloudy body, as it should be - fizzy, short-lived head- fairly dry and lacking a certain complexity I want in my hefes - nicely dry, though - a bit spicy - mild phenols, mostly in the form of banana, but some plastic manifests late - dusty headhunter throughout - a bit of lemon tartness - kind of bland, but not terrible.

tap at the brewpub - Pours a cloudy straw color with a white head. It has an ample yeasty, wheaty aroma with notes of citrus and spice. The flavor is sweet with a little of that citrus and spice coming through. Unfortunately it’s also pretty weak and water with a rather off tasting finish.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a cloudy light yellow color with a thin white head that recedes steadily. Thin sheet of lacing with some strings. Aroma of citrus and bananas on top of mild wheat. Medium, clean body with flavors of wheat and banana primarily, plus some citrus ad spice. The finish is is wheaty with a citrus aftertaste. Above average overall.

A hazy dark orange beer with a small disappearing head. The aroma is totally dominated by wheat. The flavor is sweet and very wheaty, but also with notes of oranges as well as hints of bananas.
