Carmel and Munich malts give our flavored red ale a rich toffee and roasted nut character. We top off his beer with a healthy addition of American hops for a perfect balance.

On tap. Clear bronze hued body with a retentive/lasting off-white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are of mild esters, fruit, toffee, caramel, bready, grainy, tea and a light orange hoppy note. Flavors are grainy, biscuity, bready, nutty, tea, caramel and orange. Light citrusy hops. A bit sticky on the palate. Full carbonation, medium bodied. Generic amber. No flaws, but not very interesting.

Draught at the brewpub. Herbal flavour, perhaps soy sauce. Cloudy brown colour with big bubbles on the sides of the glass. Small frothy tan head. The flavour is fruity with some cardboard. Slightly tart finish, unclean and perhaps infected.

Union Square, Pours a darkish amber color with a minimal quickly dissipating head. I would love to write a lot about this beer, but alas it is as unremarkable as it gets. An amber ale manifesting all the latent mediocrity of the style. Well-balanced all that. Malty taste and aroma. Minimal hops, and those annoying sweet notes. Not bad, but I feel like I had this before.

Draught at Heartland Times Square, New York, NY. Mahogany colour, small head. Heavy caramel aroma. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Fudge and caramel dominate completely, making it a one-dimensional one flavour beer. Slight salty bitterness. At least this one flavour is a fairly pleasant one.

On tap at Big BBQ, enjoyed while watching free Bob Schneider concert at Madison Square Park. pours is amber, and taste is toasty sweet malt, maybe some slight apple. This is skewed by how much fun I was having at the time so probably slightly high
