At a tasting, many thanks DSG, smallish head, hazy light orange, aromas of dijon mustard, vinegar and vanila which might be from the barrels, flavours of sour apple, vinegar, black pepper and mustard seeds with hints of vanila and oakiness resembling Rioja wine barrels, short aftertaste. Subdued and extremely mellow.

750 ml capped and corked bottle. Shared by mreusch. Marked 23 oktober 2008 on bottle, blend per the description. Pour is a very slight haze golden orange with a one inch white head the fizzles out noisily. Nice upward stream of carbonation bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Aroma of funk, lemon citric and wet - but clean earthiness. Really soft, complex and engaging nose. Taste is the citric tart funkiness, very alive, earthy, mineral with layers of flavors and complexity. There is an element of the oak wood are present, as well as a nice bright acetic vinegar character. Just so much going on in this beer, and so beautifully balanced. Finish is quite clean, snappy with brisk sourness. Palate is really alive with natural carbonation, tingly on the tongue and just incredibly satisfying. Certainly a World class beer. Matt, not sure what to say, sharing this with me was just unreal generosity.

Bottle shared by the ever generous Jan and Charlotte (cheers you two) at Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 This pours light amber with a white rim for a head. Wonderful soft lemon, its like cooked preserved Moroccan lemons that I use in cooking from time to time, soft acidity, sourness is much blunter and therefore much more appealing to me than some of the Cantillon beers, its just bloody lovely nuff said really. Bottle @ Heeren Van Liedekercke, Denderleeuw.Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Has a slightly sweetish malty tart barnyard aroma with some citrus hints. Very smooth fruity mild tart barnyard flavor with hints of citrus and grapefruit. Has a fruity tart citrus and grapefruit finish.

Bottle from Kappldav123, thanks! Pinkish blonde color. Honey, grapefruit and hints of cognac in the aroma. Sour flavor with lemon, grapefruit, honey, oak, notes of brandy and pineapple. Relatively short aftertaste. Still a bit young, lacks some complexity, but a most pleasurable geuze.

Cloudy golden with a rather large white lasting head. Aroma had brett, wood and lemons. Flavour had the lot. Horseblanket, wood, brett, lacto, lemons and leather. So smooth and refreshing. Finished sour. Nice stuff.

Bottle at De Heeren Van Liedekerke. Dated 23 Oct 2008. Served in a basket. Pours golden amber with a decent off-white head. Very mild sour/funk over pale stone fruit for aromas. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is moderate funk, with a little apricot, and some slight vinosity. Finishes smooth, mildly funky, barely sour and delicious. And Oaky. Definitely.
