Classic heavy bittersweet ‘Imperial Stout’ with a touch of ‘Rooibos’, 11% vol.
Sans Pardon is one of the toughest full malt beers from the brewery. Black as the night, with a creamy head. The high alcohol content complements the coffee and chocolate aspects in the beer. The ‘Rooibos’ gives the beer that extra touch of fruitiness. Sans Pardon the tastiest.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 30.07.2022) im 2024-03 getrunken. Dieses mit Roibusch gebraute RIS kommt sehr ausgewogen daher und hat ein sehr ausgewogenes Schokoladen-Mokka-Aroma.

Bottled. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized beige head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, some alcohol and mild rye tones to it. Flavour is rye, ashes, roasted malts, coffee, mild alcohol sweetness with some slight toffee too. Straight forward impy.

Pleased with De Dochter in the past, let us try another one. I have a 33 cl bottle of Sans Pardon to try this evening, my Buffalo Bayou snifter awaits. Brown, almost black in color with a nice, settling top of eggshell brown foam. The nose is heavy with chocolate, wheat bread and licorice. The drink is all right, certainly what I would call a Russian Imperial Stout with a significant amount of roast along with chocolate, berries, toast, a small caramel sweetness to offset the char and some woodiness from somewhere. Not bad, just not in my wheelhouse.

On tap at Borefts. Pours black with moderate nitro head. Aromas of green oak, berries and roasted malts.. Flavors follow same with additional licorice and emphasis on oak. Dry bitter finish. There’s a bit of green apple as well that I don’t think should be there…

Bottle. Black with a near cm of light tan head. Fudgy aroma with firm roast, creamy, spices. Only a little sweet with roast, coffee, brioche, a light earthy & fruity spiciness that I suppose might be the rooibos (does a touch of a non traditional ingredient condemn a beer to pastry status?). Very nice but maybe wanted for a finish.

One pint can at home courtesy of Saeglopur, big thanks. BB 03/18. almost black color, small tan head. smells smoky, spices, toffee, some soy sauce, bit sugary, pretty nice smell. full body, light carbonation. tastes smoky, soy sauce, minced meat, spices, peppery, rather harsh. finishes bitter with notes of smoky, minced meat and peppery notes. taste is not very good, not a big fan of this. of course the problem could be related to age.
