Opaque deep brown to black with a large tan airy head of decent retention. Aroma: dark malts, vinous notes, dried fruit, some smoke, cappuccino. Taste: moderately sweet, malty, nice fruit esters, chocolate, some hop. Appropriate ending hop bitterness. Pleasant aftertaste. Palate: medium to full body, soft to average carbonation. Overall: pretty nice.

Fles geprobeerd met Roelzie. Het is een helder donkerbruin bier met een dun schuim. Het aroma is moutig, fruitig en wat dropachtig. De smaak is moutig, fruit, caramel met salmiaktonen.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, caramel and dark malty aroma, notes of dark caramel, treacle, some dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, fruity notes of blueberry, plum, some dried fruit, raisin, fig, whiffs of rooibos. Taste is dry, minimally sweet roasty, chocolately and minimally caramel malty, minimally herbal, notes of dark caramel, dark chocolate, a touch of coffee and liquorice, whiffs of rooibos, fruity hints of plum, raisin, a touch of blueberry and cherry; well hidden alcohol. Slightly viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally dry palate, fine and soft carbonation. Nice composition: not overly rich and manifold on the malty side, but with harmonious fruity aspects and a well matching rooibos addendum. Rather dangerously drinkable as well - zeer ordentelijk.

Black beer, good head. Smells of toasty malt, a little coffee and anise. taste adds in some dried fruit, dark chocolate, a little hop too and all this in a smooth, rich, boozy imperial stout. Doesn't do anything thrilling with the style but it's really very tasty.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a pitch black colour with a fast dissipating tiny beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and hints of dark fruits, caramel, vanilla and liquorice. Taste is the same notes as the aroma with an added oaky woody flavour. Alcohol fairly well hidden for the strength. Full bodied, smooth slightly oily mouthfeel and a long roasted, chocolate and dark fruity finish with a little added bitterness. it’s an excellent sipper.
