Brown with a tall, sudsy head that lingers. Aroma is a mix of dried fruits and caramel. Taste is mildly sweet with burnt undertones and a hint of metal. Lingering fruit candy, metal , and toasted caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, good chewiness. Decent despite the occasional rough note.

Bottle (well out of date) from Craft Beer Oasis, Crewe – drunk at home. Pours a dark burgundy with a decent sized frothy cream head. Aroma is gentle malts and caramel. Sweet creaminess briefly at the start in the mouth, before some more serious hops makes themselves known. Still a malty beer with toffee and reacle to the fore. Finish is slightly dry. Decent enough if a little bland.

Bottle from Drinks Vanuxeem, Ploegsteert, Belgium. Pours a deep mahogany colour with a medium sized creamy beige head and some sediment in the glass. Nice aromas of dry dark fruits, plums, caramel, toasty brown bread, nuts and roasted malts. Taste has more upfront roasted malts, more plums, dark fruits, caramel, chocolate and nuts. Fruit cake, burnt brown bread and a little smoke and ash on the finish. Thin to medium body, low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice beer enjoying this. Will definitely seek out again.

33cl bottle. Pours fairly dark brown with abundant and fine beige foam. Aroma is intense of caramel, fig, barrel maybe, chestnuts. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste is balanced, with medium sweetness and some bitterness. Final is long but moderately malty.

08/01/2020 - draught glass @Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Dark brown, big light tanned head. Nose is malts, spices, sweetness, bit fruits. Taste is malts, bit leather, hint of roast, bit fruits, hops in the end. Surprising nice taste as compared to the bit faint and simple nose. Not bad at all.

Fles op vakantie geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een bruin bier met een volle medium schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige geur. De smaak is moutig wat fruitige en caramel achtig.
