Quadrupel of above-average alcohol strength, with thin beige head and deep bronze colour. Very complex and inviting aroma of caramel, liquorice, vanilla, cognac, medlar, sweet tobacco, raisins... Deep caramel maltiness in the taste, very fruity, candi syrup, bit toasty, dry sourishness providing balance as well as the vinous, light bitterish, very complex finish. One of Alvinne’s great achievements in craft beer.

On tap @ Borefts 2013. Getting dark here now but for me it looks light cloudy and kinda amber glowing in the glass. Not much if a head but what is there is bubbly and almost translucent. Smells mildly fruity, some Red berries and traces of wood. It's quite sugar sweet in the taste. Not much resistance here. Really light drinkable but still really sugar sweet and almost cloying after a few sips. Soft on the carbonation and really gliding on the mouthfeel. Some soft sweet red berries is pretty much all I get in the taste here. Not bad, just not all that characterful either. 28.09.2013

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, sehr fruchtig, reife Früchte, alkoholisch. Geschmack stark fruchtig, dunkle überreife Früchte, leicht röstmalzig, alkoholisch.

At Borefts Beer Festival 2013. Cloudy dark amber with no head. Malty aroma with banana and yeast. Sweet dried fruit and sugar flavour with a yeasty note

330ml bottle. Pours dark ruby brown with a medium head. Aroma is smoky with raisin and dark fruits. Taste has dark fruits and toffee with a sweet yeasty finish. Drinks below its strength.

Draft at Beer Temple. Pours hazy amber brown with a small bubbly tan head. Aroma of Brett, vinous aspects, red fruits and caramel. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Bretty barnyard coming in the palate with caramel, sugar, overripe red fruits and leather. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

(Draught at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm, 7 Oct 2013) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of nuts, dark fruit, caramel, dark rye bread and toffee. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, dark fruit, nuts, dark bread, a soft malt character with alcohol well hidden. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Despite its strength it’s surprisingly well balanced, with a smooth malt character. Very tasty and quite deceptive. Very nice.

Tap at Borefts ’13, 28/09/13. Hazed reddish amber with no head. Nose is tarte soured berry fruits, woody, sugars. Taste comprises earthy notes, woody, toffee, light booze, sweet tasting, tangy berry fruit. Full bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with sugars and booze. Pretty average quad, little depth to the flavours.
