A perfect beer to enjoy before a meal. Sakura means cherry leaves in japanese. The leaves are steeped in salt for several months producing a highly perfumed aroma. In Japan, Sakura are also enjoyed as special sweets during spring time.

Bottle - Earthy sweet notes, hints of plum and wood. Hazy gold with a Decent white head. Tastes just as it smells, odd and weird. But nice.

Bottle, 75cl. An almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, dense, white head. The aroma has a pleasant funkyness in the back, with some cellar and horseblanket, lemon too, some cinnamon and quite a lot of flowers. It’s semi-tart and dry on the palate, with a soft carbonation level. Lemon, cellar hints, some cinnamon and a solid dose of flowers in the flavor, lasting for a good while. Perhaps a bit too much flowers in this one, but it’s interesting and nice anyway, and the cinnamon-like touch is fine too. Sure a beer to repeat. 141207

Bottle 706/1000. Very nice floral nose. Biscuits? Pumpkin, spices, fresh. The beer starts very spicy-fruity. Pumpkin-spice, clove, Christmas-spices. Very great and smooth. Not too sour. The aftertaste is long, herbs, fresh-floral, very nice.

The aroma has some light cherry notes as well as some biscuit malt and, unfortunately, citrus cleaner. The flavor is full of cherries with some toffee and sugar notes with flowery, artificial notes. There is a light bit of tartness. The beer is very easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Interesting beer, but not my cup of tea.

750ml c/o Travlr. Highly unique. Very mellow. Earthy cherry bark tones. Just excellent. Supremely quaffable. Leafy, earthy, very smooth and easy cherry tones. No test tube sour tones. Filtered, translucent body. Cherry vanilla tones. So drinkable, on a different side of lambic. Vanilla and cherry, but very natural. Subtle and delicate. World Class.

2013 bottle from the brewer. Big nose of sakura mochi. It’s got cherry, but more the leaves than the fruit, a bit salty, confectioner’s sugar, and I even get rice cakes, though that might just be me, associating two smells naturally. Underneath, there is some grapefruit, dust, leather, and horse blanket. Lambic character is rather mild, however. Deep golden with a medium head that goes quickly to lace. Flavor is moderately sour, with grapefruit and lemon, leather and horse blanket, and then that sakura mochi flavor, which is cherry and confectioners sugar on rice, with a bit of spice. A bit salty too. Very nice, though I would take it a touch more sour. Decent body, though not as crisp as I would like. Overall a very interesting and unique lambic that is very good but could be better with a drier, more matured and sour lambic base.

Hazy golden color with small head. Amazing aroma, waves of polenta, browned butter, polenta, cookies, flowers, old grandma cupboard, malt, old times. Dry but soft mouthfeel, the acidity is moderate; some malt, dark bread, cellar. A bit Astringent.
Weird and weirdly great.
