50 cL bottle, thanks to Storm. Aroma is light malty to light spiced aroma. Flavour is dry spiced with a light sweet malt flavour. Goes into a lingering spice finish. Nice brew, yet simple.

Thin white head. Hazy orange-brown body. Deep yeasty caramel aroma with spicy, milky notes, and some slight tobacco. Deep, milky pure caramel, toffee, and yeast taste. Dryish tobacco and toffee aftertaste. Not bad, but clearly too old, despite the best before date of 2009. (0.5l bottle. Brewed March 2004.)

Bottle 0,5l. Brown coloured. Almost no head. Hazy. Fruity aroma and an extremely fruity flavour dominated by banana and peaches. Rather unvaried.

500ml bottle shared with Finn during a "romjullunch". Hazy orange colour with only a ring of foam. Tart fruity aroma. Hints of peaches and apricots in flavour supported by dry oranges. Yeasty ending. Get a bit too sweet and one- dimensional for my taste. Not the best for the brewery, but still worth drinking (thanks to Yngwie for this one, 28.12.2006).

Bottled vintage 2004, alc. 9%, batch #69. Thanks to yngwie. Orange hazy color, small off-white head. Yeasty, fruity, even glue-like aroma. A bit weird for a trippel. Plummy, apricot fruity - a bit toffeish and quite yeasty. This bottle was already aged 2½ years but it was still quite yeasty. Maybe ageing added those toffeish notes. Not really tripel-style.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour, small white bubbly head. Aroma of alcohol sweet fruits, spices and some nuts. Flavour is hoppy, but also candyish sweet. Caramellish malts also noteable. Pleasant mix. Some yeast is also noteable, but not disturbingly.

Bottled. (#60, brewed 040330) I helped bottle this batch almost two years ago. Hazy orange beer with almost no head, just some white bubbles. It has an aroma with sweet fruits, yeast and alcohol, but it is too weak. The flavor has too much alcohol in it, so that the candi-sweetness and fruityness is subdued. The body could be fuller, but the finish is well-made with a nice mix of sweetness and bitterness. And a twist of alcohol. It also has some dried fruits and apple-notes in it. I have had many less interesting Belgian triples than this one, but I am very sure their next batch (coming up soon) will be better. This beer has potential, but it is clearly not matured the way the brewers wanted. Yeast-trouble? Anyway, the beer evolved quite much the first year or so, but it seems to have stopped now. It is a strong an potent brew, and it will probably be drinkable for several years, but I am looking forward to the next batch. Will probably rerate it then. (060314)

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly hazy amber with a tiny head. Aroma of yeast and nothing much more. Quite low in carbonation - almost flat actually. Fairly full-bodied with notes of yeast, alcohol and extremely sweet malt. Lightly hoppy finish. Terribly disapponting for a Nøgne Ø beer - and I understand why the brewery has been hesitant to release this. They probably shouldn’t have. 290106
