From tap at the brewpub, 5.2% as Apollo Kölsch. Pours hazy yellow with a little dense white head. Thick malty and dry diacetyl aroma. Thin watery texture, mild caramel malt flavour. Rather dry and with a light butterish note before the finish. Solid bitterness into the finish.

Light amber beer with a small white head. Caramel aroma. Caramel, sweet flavour. Not a good kölsch, and nothing special in its own right.

(On tap) Slightly hazy pilsener golden with a decent head. Vaguely floral hop aroma. Medium body, pilsener malty with the usual raw and brutal Apollo finish. Fuck, I really hope that one day all their stock of bittering hops will burn, burn, burn.... 090806

This is a top fermented Kölsch!?! A hazy almost unclear dark yellow beer with a huge slightly off-white head. The aroma is sweet yeasty combined with notes of brewmash - not clean and citrusy as it is supposed to be. The flavor is very powerfully hoppy to start off, which turns grainy and strawy, combined with a slight floral hoppyness - like You find from British hops, and towards the end a hint of metal comes along (also from the hops?). The end is dry and very bitter. This is very far from the style guidelines, and thus far from what I expected - glad I only had a 25 cl serving.

Draught at Apollo Bryggeri on July 30, 2006. Shady yellow color, rather small white head. Fresh mix of fruity and malty scent. Bitter taste with bitter and fruity, evolving to sweet, aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel.
